Five Myths about India's Nuclear Posture

I dispel five prevailing myths about India's nuclear posture. The evolution of India's nuclear posture over the past decade carries significant tradeoffs and risks which scholars and policymakers have thus far underestimated. In particular, I argue that India's nuclear posture is not as minimal as the conventional wisdom asserts, carrying significant implications for safety, regional security, and crisis stability that remain underappreciated.
